Freelance Journalist

I'm a Journalism graduate with a First Class degree and an extensive portfolio, looking to apply well-honed writing and communication skills to create accurate and impactful journalism.

Volunteering

I believe it is the primary obligation of journalists to serve the public first and foremost. During my time at the University of Leicester, I found that the best way to achieve this was through volunteering for the Leicester Gazette. I am proud to have worked for a co-operative newspaper that prioritises the community and ethical journalism over profits.

I have also volunteered as an article writer for Burning Nights CRPS Support, a charity dedicated to improving the lives of people with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS). Writing about a condition that is widely underreported and misunderstood allowed me to amplify lived experiences with compassion and sensitivity, strengthening my view that journalism remains one of the most effective ways to serve and unite communities.

“I still believe that if your aim is to change the world, journalism is a more immediate short-term weapon.”
